Japan's largest bank Mitsubishi UFJ to launch its own digital currency called 'coin,' by end of 2019

World's 5th largest bank Mitsubishi UFJ will issue its own digital currency

After months of speculation, Japan’s largest bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. has finally announced to launch its own digital currency called 'coin' .


According to the local newspaper Japan Times, that Group President, Mike Kanetsugu revealed this week that the Bank is planning to come up with the coin before the end of 2019.


According to Kanetsugu, If businesses in different sectors use the currency, Mitsubishi UFJ “will be able to connect economic blocs,” including customer bases of such firms. He also said that Coin will enable the different business to get unavailable information about their customer, which will help them to serve in better manner.
