Casino accepting Bitcoins was Raided by the Police in the Indian Capital

On Monday night around 12:30 AM Delhi police received a PCR call about a late night Garba party led cops to Casino in Imperia Hotel in South Delhi.

According to the report published by TOI, Delhi police on Monday night received a call about a late night party led police to full operational casino in Imperia Hotel which is located on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, Ghitorni South Delhi.

According to DCP (southwest) Devender Arya, during the raid 58 people were arrested including businessmen, hotel managers and organisers. Police also seized $15000 in cash (in INR Rs.11 Lacs) as stake money on the table with 6,000 chips, 65 phones, 7 hukka and 3 casino tables from the spot.


Police also found that organisers of casino were also accepting payment in Bitcoin, through mobile wallets apart from cash. The Delhi Police will also conduct a surprise check at the hotels and farmhouses till Diwali to check illegal activities. During this festive season of Diwali many people get involved in gambling activities like playing cards and other gambling games which are illegal in India.

Diwali, Diwali, Deepavali or Deepawali is a four to five-day festival of lights, celebrated every autumn in the Northern Hemisphere by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists. This time the date of Diwali is on 27th of October but people celebrate this festival with their friends and family throughout the month.
